Children’s Hope Ukraine

Children’s Hope Ukraine partners with Christian families of Ukraine to reach abandoned children and provide Christ-centered homes.  They focus on developing lifelong relationships, teaching and encouraging children to reach their full potential and preparing them for life on their own.  First Love currently oversee Safe Haven and Father’s Home for these special children.

All of our children come from neglectful or abusive backgrounds. They have been wounded and abandoned by the very people who should have loved them the most. They come to us hurting and confused. There is no quick fix for these kids. Building trust and breaking down the walls they’ve built around their hearts takes years. It is never easy and often painful, but we thank God that He is faithful. He has always loved our kids and has always been with them. Jesus is bringing healing to their hearts and is at work in their lives day after day and year after year. We rejoice that many have come to know Him as their Savior, and we continue to fight and pray that all of them would make that decision. We believe that God is raising up a generation of Ukrainian orphans who will love and follow after Christ, who will break free from the chains of their parents’ and grandparents’ pasts, and who will teach their own children to love and keep His commandments.

Daniel and Janna Ross run outreach camps for children in the state run orphanages.  The camping program offers the children an opportunity to experience nature, enjoy games and team building experiences, and learn about God’s love for them.  They also meet the staff from Safe Haven, and learn about the opportunity to live in a loving christian home.

Safe Haven is a home is Kiev, Ukraine for children that choose to leave the state run orphanage for a Christ-centered foster home.  Daniel and Janna Ross oversee the home to make sure the financial, educational, and spiritual needs of the children are provided for.   Many of the children have given their lives to Christ, completed college and are leading productive lives.

Father’s Home is a collection of children’s homes outside of Zhytomyr, Ukraine where Ukrainian couples are raising orphans in Christ-centered families. Currently there are four families with a total of 38 children – ranging from 2 to 20 years old.

First Love missionary Rosalynn Prough oversees the homes and works alongside the families to help with practical needs such as education, training for the parents of traumatized children, bonding time on family trips, spiritual growth at Christian camps, as well as partnering with a variety of other ministries through the local churches our families attend.

Our greatest desire is for our kids to know the love of Jesus, to repent and surrender their lives to Him, and to live for God the rest of their days.

Priorities

At First Love we seek to “flesh out” the passion of Christ before a lost and dying world. In our ministries we have deliberately chosen to major on those whom the world might consider to be the minors.  And in that regard... our priority is to invest our greatest resources and energies on the least, because we recognize that whenever we reach out to the least of these, we do it for Jesus.

I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me...Jesus.
