Ministry to the people of Nepal

First Love International in Nepal

First Love operates four children’s homes in various parts of Nepal.  Our wonderful staff provides a loving Christian environment for over 200 boys and girls who would otherwise be living in hopeless situations.  First Love provides for all of the children’s needs just as you would as a parent including, food, shelter, clothing, medical care, and educational expenses including school fees and uniforms.

Children learning in Nepal

Besides the children’s homes, First Love also runs a hostel in Kathmandu for older children. The laws in Nepal prohibit children over 17 years old from staying in a children’s home. The hostel allows us to see the children through high school and college or career training to prepare them to live on their own as adults.  We are praying for funds to purchase land in Kathmandu for a permanent hostel as we are presently using a rented facility.

Feeling the Lord leading us to help widows as well as orphans, First Love opened a home called “Tabitha House” in Kathmandu in 2003.   This home has provided for the needs of many widows.  Some of these women are now working on staff, others have remarried and are doing well, and others have been able to get jobs outside.   In order to help fund the various projects in Nepal, a store has been opened in Kathmandu to sell and market quilts and other products made by the women of Tabitha House.

First Love also operates a Senior Center that provides food, exercise and social activities for over 150 impoverished senior citizens in the southern part of Nepal.

Biggest Current Needs

Following the earthquake that devastated Nepal in April of 2015 First Love began a massive relief effort to bring food, water, clothing, and shelter to remote villages impacted by the disaster.  Over 300 homes were built and First Love continues to assist as needed in these villages.   We were also able to construct a church in one village in August 2017.

Although our goal is to generate more in-country funds to support relief efforts and the children of Nepal, we presently depend upon donations from brothers and sisters in the USA, in particular for the support of the children in the children’s homes.   The sponsorship amount per child is $80 per month.

Priorities

At First Love we seek to “flesh out” the passion of Christ before a lost and dying world. In our ministries we have deliberately chosen to major on those whom the world might consider to be the minors.  And in that regard... our priority is to invest our greatest resources and energies on the least, because we recognize that whenever we reach out to the least of these, we do it for Jesus.

I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me...Jesus.
