First Love brings much needed disaster relief.

THAILAND

An earthquake in the Indian Ocean triggered a tsunami that killed over 5,300 people in Thailand in 2004.  First Love identified a small village where every home had been destroyed.  Teams were sent to provide relief and rebuild all 55 homes in the village.

First Love immediately had staff on the scene providing shelter, food, water and clothing.

TACLOBAN, PHILIPPINES

Typhoon Hiayan destroyed the city of Tacloban in 2013 killing over 10,000 people.  First Love immediately had staff on the scene providing shelter, food, water and clothing.   A small village near Tacloban was especially hard hit.  First Love made a two year commitment to rebuild the homes and lives of the people devastated by the storm.  In addition to rebuilding homes, First Love built a ministry center as the base for the relief effort, and started a church.  Today the First Love Ministry Center serves as the church and as a pre-school for the local children.

NEPAL EARTHQUAKE

Nepal was shaken by a series of strong earthquakes in 2015 causing massive destruction.   First Love staff was already on the ground, rescuing victims, providing first aid, and even delivering babies amidst the rubble.  Three remote villages were identified where every home had collapsed.  In addition, all of the crops and stored food was also destroyed.  First Love provided tons of food and clean water to the poor villagers, and made a commitment to rebuild all of the homes.  Today First Love continues to visit these villages and provide school supplies, warm school sweaters, and other items needed by the villagers.

Priorities

At First Love we seek to “flesh out” the passion of Christ before a lost and dying world. In our ministries we have deliberately chosen to major on those whom the world might consider to be the minors.  And in that regard... our priority is to invest our greatest resources and energies on the least, because we recognize that whenever we reach out to the least of these, we do it for Jesus.

I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me...Jesus.
